I have the Walmart Hyper Tough one that is like these. 600 lumens. It's pretty nice and the battery can be replaced if need be. Cost $15.

I not so worried about which one I would keep., I'm more worried about which one I will lose first... Same about being able to change the battery, I will lose either before I would ever need to change the battery....lol

I have several Icons, I've found myself using little light on the end the most (the one I thought most useless!) Also putting it in my shirt pocket with the light folded on the outside makes a great handsfree work light.

The main and pretty much only reason i wont be buying into stacktech yet is that you cant lock any of the drawers. Why this wasnt included in the design i dont know and am shocked its not a feature when you can lock everything else

Does the new Braun light bar still swivel just below the hinge. The old style would bend and twist.

The orientation of the hinge on the icon was the deal breaker for me and made me throw my icon light into the back of the drawer. This hack just might be a game changer though.

Purchased this in December 2022 from Fanttik. Needed to use it this week for first time. Only got a flashing display. Contacted Fanttik Customer No-Service. They requested order number and video which I provided. Their response was out of warranty. Sorry. Great product that doesn’t work the first time you need it. In the past I have purchased numerous Fanttik products. No longer will I do that. Replaced jump starter with Topdon. I have found their products and Customer Service top notch. Noted on Amazon reviews many one star listings for same issue I experienced for a product purchased in same time frame. Seems to me a quality issue with battery. Disappointed they won’t recognize that support a Customer who has purchased numerous products from Fanttik. Live and learn

im a big fan of makita and porter cable stuff. but i started put with dewalt and still have a massive collection of their tools. i had those base model junk drills, and two of them died over the years, probably because of how hard i am on tools. i push them to the max in my line of work. but Dewalt is honesty an awesome tool brand when it comes to dependability. they have a budget line and their pro lines. may be pricey but they have the most power than any other electric power tools. my only relatable gripe is outrageous battery and cordless prices

I do appliance repair, my tools live in a Veto tool backpack. I chose the Braun because I can fold the light bar over to protect the switch. It's been a great light, I've had it for the better part of a year and have had no problems other than a couple loose screws that i retightened and haven't been a problem since. I also like that the light will function with a charger attached, I don't know whether or not the Icon does.

I would tend to go with the Icon because it's less bulky. I like the hack and will probably do that when I get one. I do see the ability to change batteries as a definite advantage, allowing you to swap batteries and continue working without having to wait for the light to charge or having a second light. If Icon were to make that change that would cinch it for me hands down.

There is nothing wrong with sponsoring something when you believe in it greatly and I think that you do and therefore just being honest is a good thing to add to it all. Appreciate your content and effort brother.

I have two of the older Braun slim lights that only has one hinge. Love them. Plus, I rather be able to replace the battery. I got them both on a sale at their time. The older one, the batter doesn't last as long as it used to. I'm sure eventually I will need to replace that battery. I also used the older one to stick it under the frame of my truck when I was removing the gas tank a few years back. It works great for automotive as well. I remember seeing same exact one in Lowes years ago under the Craftsman brand. But it took one or two AA batteries. Yeah, I don't think so...

Very cool solution. I have a lot of motion activated AAA powered lights, so this would be awesome to keep them running

Well. At least you go to home depot you can find someone to try to help you . They may not have much experience in the trades but a lot of them that are at lowe. Is. Burger King reject. And Burger King will hire anyone that breathing.

Replaceable batteries is big deal for someone like me who doesn't always remember to put their tools back on the chargers. Plus I've taken apart a few old rechargeable battery packs and salvaged the good 18650 batteries. So I have plenty of extras laying around😁👍

I currently have 2 of the original Braun lights ( the micro USB style). Work perfectly after 3 plus years. Have purchased and returned 3 of the current style. Both the hinge mechanism and the tip light has broken on all of them. I have 2 of the icons and love them. Only weird part is the smaller light is on the folding side.

There is an adult toy joke in here somewhere to be had, I just know it. 😅

Harbor freight sells garbage tools and that’s fine for the homeowner or guy who uses them every now and then I personally buy some tools there if it’s a one time use or a set to keep in a car for emergency use but the majority of the crap they sell can be bought on Amazon for a fraction of the price warranty I could care less if I’m using these tools it’s in a emergency or a one time deal where I don’t care if they get lost or break

No brainer the one with the strongest magnet. I've used the Braun for years, it's a good light but the magnet sucks in the automotive field work. It's always falling when you need it most.

I have the three light set (Braun) last summer on clearance. I spent $25 and has a rechargeable base and the option of a flash light, a light bar (flexible) or a flexible pen light and comes with a magnetic clip. I was trying to upload a picture but I could not get it to work.

Probably which ones at a cheaper discount I would buy.

Maybe test how long they last and how quick to full charge. Braun is bad as far as those things go. Doesn’t last long and takes hours to recharge. Like 4 to 5 hours. Hope I ins better but doubt it.

I love the icon so much I bought 2 of them . I have even used it for shaving.

I am 70 and bought SK tools when 10 years old and kept buying till I had them all. Never lost a wrench or socket, broke an extension

Icon needs to do another $20 deal of thr day. Otherwise as a DIY-er, I'll purchase the Braun light. Already have 3 of them but can never have enough for Hurricane prep season!

The swivel is for the OCD folks that want the power button in a certain spot every time they pick it up

I have the original Braun version. Bought it when it was first on sale for like '$18.00 I think. That's been 5-6 years ago. Use it weekly atleast. Sometimes more often. I'm an electrician. Works great for illuminating panels, transformers, above suspended ceilings...basically anywhere it's dark. A hack for any magnetic light of this type is to attach a 4"square cover to the magnet, then the light can sit on not magnetic surfaces easier.

I bought the Braun a while back… battery life wasn’t too good (fast self-discharge) but easily upgraded battery!👌🏼

I went to HF to get the braun one when it was on sale last but they were out so i saw the icon one on sale for around 27 dollars so i got it. Just a few dollars more and i needed it, so far been pleased with the icon. I glad to know the battery can be changed.

I use the Y driver for screw in hooks.

Maybe I missed it in this video but I recently brought a AEER portable tire inflator for my e bike and I feel like it gives more air then what you set the psi too it’s suppose to shut off by itself but I don’t trust it so I stop it myself any suggestions would be great by anyone please

I prefer the Braun. I have used it under my truck, under sinks, doing an electrical panel swap, etc. I have not had issues with the magnet. I like the easy to replace battery. I suppose you could source a battery for the Icon with the leads and plug already in place. I know most battery shops will NOT weld tabs onto Li-Ion cells. I have both the new fold flat Baun and the older one that does not fold flat. Both have been great. I carry the fold flat one in my electrical tools bags.

Well, i decided to finally send stuff to your email for next weeks adition. Maybe it will be helpfull. I would send local store stuff, but locally i mostly go to harbor freight, and you tend to cover them thourally enough in other videos. I usually use your video to find deals there lol.

I would go with the Icon with the removeable battery of the Braun and the swivel of the Braun. Until then, neither. Nice comparison. I already have the older non swivel Braun and not happy with that either as it is also very top heavy and whats worse, is is doesnt even collapse. With that being said, i may upgrade to the Braun, it at least has 1 better function than mine.
